Assistant Cook Mach is a part of the kitchen team and has been part of the Rambutan family since 2013. Originally from the Angkor Thom area, she knows Siem Reap well. Her top recommendation for visitors is to visit Kulen National Park.

Where are you from?

I’m from the Angkor Thom district, just outside Siem Reap City.

I grew up near the temples with my five brothers and two sisters. Now I rent a room in Siem Reap around Angkor Thom with my husband of two years. We’re having our first child soon.

Before I worked at a small restaurant and I wanted to improve my knowledge, so I applied here. At Rambutan I have learned to cook many new dishes and to work as a team. I like to cook European food. My favourite dish to serve guests is Linguine Carbonara.

I think they should visit Kulen Mountain. The waterfall is beautiful and you can go swimming.

I want to open a small restaurant near Angkor Thom. I would serve Khmer food, probably not European food because I think people want to eat local food when they travel.
